Abstract
The application of the Monash rainfall-runoff model on the arid Fortescue River catchment in Western Australia is described. Typical model parameter estimates and their performance indices, including parameter sensitivity and inter-dependence are presented and compared with results from previous studies. The special problems of parameter estimation in arid catchments are highlighted. General recommendations are made for improved estimation of model parameters in arid catchments.
