Abstract

An unprecedented π-cyclopentadienyl-bridged digallane complex, [{Ga[N(Ar)C(H)]2}2{μ-CpK(tmeda)2}] (Ar = C6H3Pr2i-2,6), incorporating the first structurally characterized π-interaction with a Ga(II) center, results from the oxidative coupling of an anionic gallium(I) heterocycle with cyclopentadienylthallium(I). This compound can be regarded as an intermediate in the nucleophilic attack of a digallane by the Cp- anion.
