Abstract
(Figure Presented) Light at the end of the tunnel: Two kinds of 1D microstructures, tubes and rods, were prepared from 9,10-bis(phenylethynyl) anthracene. While both types of 1D microstructures can absorb excitation light and propagate the photoluminescence (PL) emission towards the tips, the air inside the hollow tubes changes the waveguide behavior and helps to reduce the optical loss (see PL images, scale bar: 10 μm).
