Abstract
We examine the sum capacity of a clusterbased cooperative cellular network where a linear minimummean squared error (LMMSE) estimator is deployed across a cluster of base stations to estimate multiple incluster users. Different from previous works, we examine the impact of interference from outofcluster users whose transmit power scales with that of the incluster users. For such a network, we derive the sum capacity of the incluster users with independent Rayleigh fading and arbitrary path loss. The sum capacity expression is based on accurate approximations we derive for the characteristic function and the probability density function of the incluster users signaltointerferenceplusnoise ratios (SINRs). Numerical examples demonstrate that our new analytical expressions accurately characterize the impact of outofcluster interference and cluster size on the sum capacity. We observe that outofcluster interference results in a sum capacity saturation regime when the transmit power is large. We also illustrate that the saturation threshold increases with the cluster size. Furthermore, we examine the sum capacity under different path loss exponents which highlights the significance of outofcluster interference.

Other | 2015 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC2015), held in the magnificent city of London, the UK’s capital. ICC2015 will be an excellent presentation, networking and publicity event, offering the opportunity for researchers, engineers and business people to meet and exchange ideas and information. In addition to the traditional keynote, symposium, workshop, tutorial and industry forum sessions, this year we are offering a new event – Chief Technology Officer Forum - during the plenary session. Here, the future of mobile networks will be discussed. |
