On the response of LTI higher order differential-algebraic systems with perturbed coefficients

Abstract

We provide a new approach towards the analysis of the response of higher order systems whose coefficients are subject to norm bounded perturbations. Based on the magnitudes of the perturbations, we obtain bounds of the response of the system. The first order case - that is, state space or, more generally, descriptor systems - has been extensively studied in the past using a variety of approaches and many results have been produced. On the other hand, a very popular strategy to overcome the difficulty of high order systems is to reduce them to first order equivalents. Our approach utilizes the aforementioned techniques to study the response of polynomial systems under perturbations.
