N2 - Callianassid fossils, preserved within their burrows, collected from Mount Discovery, East Antarctica, provide the first such occurrence in Antarctica as well as evidence for deposition in a shallow marine environment distal to a deltaic system. The age of the specimens, based upon associated dinoflagellate cysts, is late early to middle Eocene.
