On the empirical exploitation of consumers' profit functions in static analyses

This paper proposes the empirical exploitation of the consumer's profit function in representing preferences, and specifying estimable yet general demand systems. An empirical application demonstrates the value of this generalisation and the feasibility of the proposed method.
