Numerical analysis of a UV written channel waveguide in novel Flat Fiber

Abstract

This paper discuss the modal behaviour of a UVwritten channel in novel modified chemical vapor deposition planar silica substrate called Flat Fiber in 1550nm and 630nm operating wavelength. Numerical analysis of this device shows single mode behaviour in 1550nm and multimode in 630nm. Corresponding field and power distributions are presented and related further studies are discussed.
