N2 - Prescribing a drug outside its licensed recommendations with regards to age, indication, dose, route of administration and formulation(i.e. off-label prescribing), is a common prescribing trend particularly in children. The literature published previously indicated that about 90% of drugs used in children are prescribed off-label and this practice is not only limited to hospitals but also in the community settings.
