Abstract

A discussion covers the ability of mineral nanoparticles to alter transport properties of polymeric materials for membrane applications; nanoparticle filled polymers that exhibit over an order of magnitude higher light gas, i.e., CO2, nitrogen, methane, hydrogen; degree of permeability enhancement; particle loading; characterization of nanocomposites; and particle dispersion in the bulk. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2006 AIChE Annual Meeting (San Francisco, CA 11/12-17/2006).
