Abstract
Chromatographers desire greater separation power and better sensitivity. One broad technology called comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography addresses both concerns. There are a number of different ways of using the technology that essentially depend on the modulation frequency with respect to the peak arrival time at the cryotrap. For demonstration purposes, two such cases are outlined.
