Abstract
Micro-expression, which is an uncontrollable expression provoked involuntary and spontaneously, can reveal one's concealed genuine feelings. In recent years, the analysis of micro-expression is attracting more and more attention in the field of computer vision. Yet, not many papers are published, potentially due to its micro and subtle nature that lead to a major challenge in developing an efficient automated micro-expression recognition system. Almost all conventional works focus on extracting the micro-expression features from the entire or selected part of the video sequence. Researchers then proposed to represent a micro-expression video sequence by using only two frames, viz., onset and apex, with slight trade-off with performance.
