Abstract
Candid candoxin: A 16-residue peptide (CDX) that is derived from candoxin binds with a high affinity to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (see picture), which are highly expressed on the blood-brain barrier. Invivo biodistribution and the anti-glioblastoma effect indicate the potential of CDX as a ligand to enable brain-targeted drug delivery.
