Media diversity and the role of competition law

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter (Book)Researchpeer-review

Abstract

This chapter considers the extent to which competition law is an effective guardian of media diversity and, to the extent that it is not, whether it should be reformed to better play such a role. It is argued that competition law plays an important although limited role in this respect but that reform of competition law is nevertheless not the answer.
