N2 - We commend Khankel et al1 for their insightful randomized study on the comparative efficacy of topical diclofenac and oral ibuprofen in treating acute nonradicular musculoskeletal low back pain. Their findings indicate that oral ibuprofen alone provided more effective pain relief compared to topical diclofenac and that combining the 2 did not yield additional benefits.
