Background: in Australia,andglobally,ratesforgestationaldiabetesmellitus(GDM)haverisen dramaticallyinrecentdecades.ThisisofconcernasGDMisassociatedwithadversepregnancy outcomesandadditionalhealth-carecosts.Factorslinkedtoincreasingincidenceincludeolder maternalageandnon-Caucasianethnicity.However,asyet,thereisnoclearconsensusonthe magnitudeofeffectassociatedwiththesefactorsincombination.Thisstudythereforeinvestigatedthe effect ofmaternalageandcountry/regionofbirthonGDMincidence.
