Additive Manufacturing (AM) increases much design freedom for designers to conceive parts with complex geometries and material information. However, the increased complexity makes it difficult to model heterogeneous objects defined on a multiple design scale. To solve this problem, an innovative modeling framework is proposed in this paper to enable the modeling of structures with multiscale complexities. Several examples are used to demonstrate the feasibility of applying the proposed method for representation of multi-material-property and multiscale components.
