Abstract
As everywhere else in Germany, schools in the federal state of Bremen have to face the challenge of integrating an increasing number of refugee children and adolescents who come into the system as lateral entrants and preparing them for regular lessons. The author describes how Bremen copes with this challenge and recommends further steps taking into account the latest linguistic and didactic findings.
