Abstract
The amount of data that is available to users continues to grow. To make use of the large data sets, it is important that users have access to tools that support the interpretation of the data. Data visualization has emerged as a means of aiding users trying to understand large datasets. A visualization tool, Limn Matrix, for handling large, distributed, high-dimension data sets is presented. Limn Matrix makes use of a distributed index system that allows users to work with the distributed data in a scatterplot matrix format. The conceptual framework and the practical aspects of Limn Matrix are discussed. Screen shots of the tool are given to illustrate the nature of the results.
