Abstract

This chapter provides an in-depth review of the legal and ethical implications of edge-artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector. The qualitative analysis of this study attempts to understand various regulatory categories for introducing edge-AI and its prospects and possible limitations, ranging from data protection to consumer protection and liability implications to intellectual property. In each of these study cases, this chapterhighlights the concurrent challenges and possible consequences that can be addressed by legal and policy changes.
