Learning from the text talk experiences of Years 5 and 6 students discussing contemporary picture books

Abstract

This article describes a classroom-based research project that implemented picture book discussions with students in Years 5 and 6. The aim was to empower the students and provide opportunities for them to become a gentic learners. The article concludes with the researcher’s observations of some of the preliminary findings.
