A study examined student's learning strategies by using the trace data collected from the University's Learning Management System (LMS). The study focused on the trace data originating from the preparatory activities that students were requested to complete prior to the scheduled face-to-face sessions in a first-year undergraduate course in computer engineering. The rationale for focusing on this component of the flipped learning (FL) design centered on the importance of the preparation activities to facilitate and enable student participation in the face-to-face sessions.
