Abstract

DESCRIPTION:
In this presentation, John Bradley, Associate Professor at the Monash Indigenous Centre at Monash University; Shannon Faulkhead, Finkel Fellow at the Monash Indigenous Center, Monash Country Lines Archive; and Brent McKee, SensiLab Animator at the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University, feature the Monash Country Lines Archive (MCLA) project, an initiative undertaken by the Monash Language Center at Monash University that works with 3D animation as a method of intergenerational knowledge sharing and language revitalization. The project is aimed at reconnecting traditional language with its people and thus assisting in the preservation of Indigenous communities’ history, knowledge, poetry, songs, performance, and language. This session was part of the 2015 ATALM annual conference held in Washington, DC on September 9-12, 2015.
