Abstract

Una tarea propia a la filosofía y la sociología es la de pensar la educación como institución central de la sociedad. Haciendo uso de la obra de Cornelius Castoriadis, el presente artículo examina el lugar que ocupa la educación respecto a las actividades sociales más importantes, y la concibe como un imaginario caracterizado por su capacidad creativa y su tendencia hacia modos de vida en común más democráticos. Esta aproximación permite reconsiderar la conexión existente entre proyectos educativos y la cultura en la que emergen.

Casanueva Baptista, Alonso. Paideia and Pedagogy: Reflections on the Educational Imaginary. One of tasks of philosophy and sociology tasks is to think about education as society’s core institution. Using Cornelius Castoriadis’ work as a basis, this article looks at education’s role in the most important social activities, with a view of education as an imaginary characterized by its creative capacity and its tendency toward more democratic forms of common life. This approach serves to reconsider the connection between educational projects and the culture in which they emerge.
