    Abstract

    In this introduction we briefly outline the need for a focus on identity in educational leadership in new and different ways and then explain the overall rationale for this book, including its guiding questions and assumptions. We also provide an overview of the chapters in the book and finish with a brief suggestion for how we might proceed with further research building on the ideas put forward in this collection.
