Abstract
Infraspecific taxa
Seven subspecies; traditionally includes P. l. fulvus (VU) Christmas Island, P. l. dorotheae (LC), a non-breeding visitor to eastern Australia. Recent genetic and morphological analysis recommends that P.l.dorotheae, P.l.fulvus and P.l.lepturus be combined in a single subspecies (Humeau et al.2020).
Taxonomic uniqueness: very high; subspecies/species: 6, species/genus: 3, genera/family: 1, families/order:1.
