Abstract
An improved methanol decomposition catalyst has been developed consisting of copper and nickel supported on a mixture of silica and magnesia. Near total methanol conversion was achieved with very high selectivity to hydrogen and carbon monoxide at 281°C for a methanol MHSV of 10h-1.
