N2 - Tobacco smoking is the single most preventable cause of ill-health and death in Australia (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 2012). It contributes to more hospitalisations and deaths each year than alcohol and illicit drugs combined (Begg, Vos, Barker, Stevenson, Stanley, Lopez, 2007). Smoking still causes a higher burden of disease than any other risk factor, representing 7.8 of the total burden of disease.
