Abstract
Educational and developmental psychologists work across a range of settings and populations, and while the roles of educational and developmental psychologists in Australia have many similarities with educational and developmental psychologists in other counties, Australian educational and developmental psychologists have distinguished and unique differences.
"How to be an Educational and Developmental Psychologist" is for the early career or aspiring educational and developmental psychologists, registrars and students. This dynamic, engaging discussion will provide a supervision-style panel where the audience will have an opportunity to ask live and pre-arranged questions allowing the session to flow in a way that is tailored to the interests of those that can join!
Learning outcomes
For a student or psychologist wishing to undertake a career path as an educational and developmental psychologist, there are multiple considerations and requirements. Navigating information from higher educational institutions on course requirements, registration processes from governing bodies, and advice, sometimes conflicting, from professional associations can be challenging. This session seeks to provide a safe space where questions can be answered - either in the session or prior to using the confidential question box. Learning outcomes are dependent on the topics raised. The session is a supervision-style panel.
