Abstract
The synthesis and first structural characterization of calcium, strontium and barium aryls are conducted. This was made possible by combining a redox transmetallation approach using bis(pentafluorophenyl) mercury with novel sterically crowded triazenide ligands that provide kinetic stability to the organometallic species by metal amp; 150;p encapsulation between the flanking aryl groups.
