Abstract
The human histamine H 4 receptor was only recently cloned (in late 2000). As a result, very little is known about its function. It has approximately 40% amino acid sequence homology with the human histamine H 3 receptor, and this increases to 60% when comparing only the transmembrane regions. It couples to G i to inhibit cyclic AMP accumulation.
