Research output: Book/ReportCommissioned ReportResearch

Abstract

This review was commissioned by Corrections Victoria, Department of Justice in 2009 to examine national and international research and other relevant literature that deals with issues surrounding the effective management and care of old and ageing offenders in prison and in the community. It summarises the key themes emerging from the literature, noting a need for greater international and local research, and identifies why this is a significant issue. The review also examines innovative approaches to policy and the management of older offenders and identifies best practice in relation to older prisoner detention, rehabilitation and postrelease support.
