The asymmetric doublet obtained in earlier Sn-119 Mssbauer measurements of ternary stannides is re-interpreted as being due to the Gol danskii-Karyagin effect instead of a beta-Sn impurity included in the structure. Measurements in applied magnetic fields show that the conduction electron polarization at the Sn(2) site of ErRh1.1Sn3.6 is of the opposite sign to that of PrRh (x) Sn (y) and PrCo (x) Sn (y) .
