Abstract
The colloidal particles of nanocomposite films were synthesized by electrostatic self-assembly and the formation of thin, patterned, heterocolloidal nanoparticle assemblies of gold, silver, and Q-state CdS was demonstrated. By judicious masking of the thermally-evaporated octadecylamine surface and sequential immersion in different carboxylic acid derivatized colloidal nanoparticle solutions, an in-plane spatially-separated assembly was characterized by quartz crystal microgravimetry, UV-vis spectroscopy and energy dispersive analysis of X-ray.
