Malnutrition in cystic fibrosis (CF) is associated with poorer survival, but the determinants of fat-free mass (FFM) depletion are not well-characterized. It is unknown whether routine nutritional indicators, including body mass index (BMI), are adequate for detecting FFM depletion.
