Abstract
A wavelength detection technique for the control of transmitter wavelengths in WDM/FDM optical packet networks is demonstrated. The wavelength of a transmitter can be determined within a single packet duration (1.6µs). We demonstrate optical frequency detection to an accuracy of ±75 MHz over a capture range of 6GHz.
