Abstract

In the previous book, The re-emergence of values in science education (2007, Sense), Rebecca’s work as a science teacher, with her colleague Vojtech, was presented as an example of two teachers wrestling with the ideas of values of science as part of their teaching. Since this time, Rebecca has transitioned from science teacher to science teacher educator, once again requiring her to consider the place of values associated with science in her teaching. The chapter highlights the need to challenge pre-service teacher’s notions of the nature and values of science as part of a pedagogy for science teacher education.
