Abstract
Fibre-spinning of the M1 fluid was studied using a technique developed earlier by the authors. Experiments were conducted under constant rates between 1 and 4 s-1 and the tensile stress was found to increase monotonically with time. An Oldroyd B constitutive equation is shown to predict these stresses satisfactorily.
