Abstract
Ethnographic research is a widely used methodology in health research. Studying culture and cultural groups allows insight into social actions and how groups of people construct and live in their worlds. For health researchers, ethnographic studies are a mechanism or window for viewing and making sense of the life worlds, and the rules that inform understanding and behaviours of people they encounter in therapeutic interactions and through professional encounters.
