Endgroup control in catalytic chain transfer polymerization

Abstract

Catalytic chain transfer polymerization is a very convenient free-radical polymerization technique for the production of low-molecular weight with a vinyl end-functionality. The nature of this end-functionality can be readily predicted and controlled by using conventional free-radical polymerization technique. Furthermore, it was shown that the use of α-hydroxy methyl group containing monomers leads to polymers containing aldehyde end-functionalities.
