Abstract
Enantioselective reduction of cyclobutenones to optically active cyclobutanones has been achieved by using whole-cell overexpressing Seqenzym ene-reductases (EREDs). By using these enzymes, trans-cyclobutanones were isolated in good yields and with enantiomeric excesses up to 99%.
