Abstract

Sr3(VO4)2:Eu3+ nanopowders were prepared by a combustion method using citric acid as a fuel/reductant and nitrates as oxidants. The effects of processing parameters, such as citric acid to nitrates ratio, calcination temperature and the amounts of the additive boric acid (HBO3), on the powder characteristics and fluorescence properties of the resultant strontium orthovanadate doped with 5 mol% Eu3+ were investigated.
