Abstract
The effect of irradiation on work hardening behavior of stainless steels was investigated and described using a internal variables model. A criterion for strain localization was proposed. A key ingredient in this description was the coupling between mobile dislocation density and irradiation loops. The model allowed to describe the post irradiation behavior for doses below 1 dpa.
