We are delighted to introduce Applied Phycology, a sister journal to the long-standing, well-respected European Journal of Phycology. Applied Phycology is an open access journal that provides a platform to publish high quality papers on all aspects of applied phycology. The journal is run by the British Phycological Society, a charity that has worked since 1952 to improve knowledge and understanding of all algae and to share this knowledge with the public and other potential beneficiaries. The new journal Applied Phycology is firmly grounded on the Society’s broad base in the study and exploitation of algae.
