Abstract

The fact that Ecuatorial Guinea is a Spanish-speaking country and that it has produced a ‘Spanish’ literature worthy of study is in the main largely unknown by most Hispanists. This is not surprising given that there is a total silence concerning Ecuatorial Guinea in standard texts on Hispanic civilisation(s). It is lost, so it seems, between Spain and Latin America. This anthology, edited by Donato Ndongo-Bidyogo and Mbaré Ngom, seeks to address this silence by providing Spanish-speaking readers with an overview of the history and examples of Ecuatorial Guinean literature in Spanish.
