Determination of transition metals in molten fluoride materials using electrochemical methods

Abstract

Electroanalytical studies of cobalt, nickel and iron in a ZrF4{single bond}BaF2{single bond}LaF3{single bond}AlF3{single bond}NaF melt at 500°C show that these transition metals can be determined both qualitatively and quantitatively in fluoride melts. This paper presents a preliminary investigation of cyclic voltammetry, linear scan voltammetry, linear scan anodic stripping and differential pulse voltammetry of these ions in fluoride melts.
