Abstract
An effective method for particle scale research of particulate matter was discussed. The macroscopic behavior of particulate matter was controlled by the interactions between individual particles and interaction with surrounding gas or liquid. It was shown that the bulk behavior of particulate matter depended on the collective outcome of individual particles.
