Abstract

This is a reflective poem crafted as a provocation to think about the possibilities and limits of decolonising the curriculum. It evolves from our work and theorising in the space of decoloniality and education. It takes the shape of a conversation between Mel - a white settler Australian of English, Polish and Russian ancestry, living and working on Kaurna country - and Denise - an uninvited guest living and working on the unceded lands of the Boonwurrung people as an African American migrant whose ancestors were enslaved peoples. We offer this poetic conversation as a point to which we acknowledge there will be many counterpoints. We hope the reader will take up our offering as an opening to engage in dialogue and listening in the spirit of decolonising
