Crystalline thin films formed by supramolecular assembly for ultrahigh-density data storage

Abstract

The formation of crystalline thin films by a supramolecular assembly for ultrahigh-density data storage was investigated. Ultrahigh-density data storage with the formation nanometer-sized data on a thin film was demonstrated by applying a program-controlled pulsed voltage. IT was found that the size of the recording dots could be controlled at the level of the TADDOL-coumarin (TC) molecules. It was observed that the dots are formed as a result of the electric-field-induced rupture of hydrogen bonds between the TADDOL and coumarin molecules.
