Abstract
This chapter discusses cross-cultural issues in late-life anxiety. It starts with an overview, providing a definition of culture and a theoretical model for understanding the role of culture in late-life anxiety. It then presents a summary of recent research on cross-cultural differences in various aspects of late-life anxiety, including perceptions of mental disorders, prevalence, symptom presentation, screening and diagnosis, risk and protective factors, and intervention. This chapter concludes with some recommendations for future research.
